Well hello there,

I’m going to be honest, right up front. You should know that concise has never been one of my strong suits. I’ve packed a lot of life experience into my 45 years on this planet.  However, in keeping with my goal to keep this blog informative but brief I’ll attempt a point-form introduction of myself.

Here are 10 things to know about me:

  • Born and raised here in London, Ontario.
  • Married my high school sweetheart Ian in the early nineties and we welcomed our daughter Mackenzie later that year.
  • Unexpectedly widowed at the age of 36 and laid off with 600 other coworkers from my bank job 18 months later due to the famous sub-prime mortgage fallout.
  • I’ve already been an empty-nester for over 6 years. Mackenzie and my two grand kitties Alice and Oakley have a lovely apartment nearby.
  • As part of a fairy tale story that I’ll detail in another post, I was remarried in 2015 to Paul, the brown-eyed, freckle-faced boy that was my first love in grade 8 in elementary school.
  • We have two neurotic Dachshunds, Hunter who looks like a Golden Retriever in a wiener dog body and Daisy, a puppy mill rescue who is probably part Dachshund and part miniature Pinscher.
  • I first discovered money management at the age of 12 when my Uncle Gerry taught me how to divide up my babysitting money into three jars; short term savings, long term savings, and disposable income.
  • Since graduating high school I’ve worked in the finance industry gaining experience in retail banking, credit services, scheduling/payroll, investment planning and bookkeeping.
  • I play upright bass and bass guitar in a neighbourhood ukulele band made up of 9 friends, 8 of which (myself included) learned how to play just to join the band.
  • My goal as a bookkeeper is to work hand in hand with my clients so I can set them up with solutions that simplify their bookkeeping processes and most importantly, help them sleep better every night.

Until next time…
